PI Live to Move

As reported as a rumor last week, island sources pretty much confirm that in about 2 weeks the PI Live booth will be moving from its current location overlooking the Hub over to the upper floor of Laffers Cantina. The new location is the former home of the West End Stage tech booth.

A dueling DJ's format will be used with one DJ upstairs spinning the PI music but also bantering with a DJ downstairs who will also be chatting it up with DTD customers that are passing by. Appears that there will be comedy routines of some sort. This should definitely liven things up on the far west end of Pleasure Island.

.............so they are going to pay 2 DJ's to work outside of nightclubs (and in all likelyhood not generate any revenue), instead of putting them inside a nightclub that would generate revenue, way to go disney.

I wonder how many times a night the DJ that is interacting with the people are going to get questions like: What time do the clubs open? or What is the comedy warehouse?

DJ booth...sounds like fun when I’m on vacation!!. Standing in the heat, listening to music and putting up with the crowd passing by, much better than having a selection of air conditioned nightclubs with different music venues. They dropped the ball and most likely will never open the clubs again, even though they know they made a mistake. Believe me, I wish they would because we really enjoyed staying in the Downtown Disney Hotels, walking through the village stores, eating at the restaurants, and nightly entertainment available. Our last visit focused around Citywalk and their hotels, that’s where its seems to be happening. I agree with Bob, Citywalk’s crowded until closing.

Yeah, 'cause the interact-with-the-tourists schtick is always so entertaining.

Overheard during my last visit to DTD: "How much to Citywalk?" ... said by the leader of a group of about six early-twenty-ish aged people to a guy driving one of those minivan cabs. What's wrong with this picture, Disney?

I think it's a good idea. I've always enjoyed the PI Live DJs after stepping out of a crowded club to get more elbow room and fresh air. They can create sort of a block party atmosphere and it can get wild and crazy at times with the right crowd. However, I still hope that Disney will re-open a few clubs in the near future.

Has Disney become so retarded? I understand closing Motions or even BET but Mannequins and 8Traxx always seemed to draw a crowd. I just dont get it and I guess neither does Disney. I have totally lost respect for Disney and thats why my trips have gone from 3 to 1.

I agree, reopen Mannequins because of the unique rotating dance floor, and 8traxx because of the great mix of music plus location. The DJ booth would fit in perfect then, just like when they had the stage performances. A great mix for guests of all ages. They need to do something!! Just remember. Their loss is Citywalk's gain....

Hey everyone, I feel your pain. Literally.

I've not heard anything new though since the flurry of rumors already reported on here. But sources said it would be a couple weeks before we'd see some activity.
